Some Information about the Artist

              As a glass artist Bobby Bell is known for creating art that functions. Our hand blown Hummingbird Feeders are for people who care about their Hummingbirds and wish wonderful things for their special place. Different, unique, similar to yourself, truly one of a kind.

The floral influenced designs are loved by hummingbirds. Red is the primary color for attracting Hummingbirds. Our stock color is Ruby Red . On some pieces we have integrated a lip which fresh water can be poured into or rainwater collected. This creates a moat to help keep the ants out and provides a fresh water source for the birds. I look for strength, durability and ease of cleaning in my choice of glass when working with a functional glass theme such as my Humming bird feeders. I found it in PYREX from Corning Glassworks , yes , the same glass we cook with. We trust PYREX to cook our family meals and trust the name PYREX for our Hummers.

They are hand blown of Pyrex Glass. This eliminates a very important concern of my customers, cleaning and the health of the birds. I tell my customers to run hot water into the feeder and rinse well before every refill . This preventive maintenance will keep the feeder really clean. Every month some vinegar and uncooked rice can be added to the hot water. With a good rinse , they can even go into the dishwasher because its not like other glass.Each feeder comes complete with hanging cord and directions. The Multi feeders have a copper perch so you can have them visit longer.

All of our glass is hand blown using the same time honored methods employed for thousands of years to create our unique body of work. I work within the same body of work, but no two feeders will be the same I start a feeder and work on it until its complete.

We can all go to the big box stores and get a feeder but your yard would look like everyone in the neighborhood. My customers are people that look for something different and wish to create a special feeling for themselves in their yard.

With my love of glass and 29years knowledge of this mediums impressive abilities; I strive to combine the ancient art of sculpting glass into functional contemporary forms. It is very rewarding to share my creations with today collectors.
